Ignition Media started out with humble origins back in 2003. At the time, we were just a trio of graphic designers working in an office the size of your left shoe. Our bread and butter was promotional updates for hospitality clients. Then we brought on a developer, and a marketing specialist, and an accounts team… and before long, we were a full-blown marketing agency.
As we started to prove to our clients (and to ourselves) that we could do really great work, our team began to grow. And grow. We grew to the point where we kept outgrowing a series of temporary offices. At one point we had over 20 people crammed into a small building out in the west end of Edmonton. It was then that we realized we needed a new home — a real home.
In 2014, we moved into that home: a former convent that was built in 1964 for the St. Ursuline nuns. Around this time we noticed that the name Ignition Media didn’t fit us as well as it used to. We weren’t a scrappy little design startup anymore. We were an established agency that was in the habit of strategically partnering with our clients to do some pretty excellent work. And from that, the name Habit was born.
In 2016, we decided that environmental design was a natural extension of our work. We acquired Pinpoint Creative, an environmental design and wayfinding agency with over 20 years of experience under their belts. As a result, we could offer our clients a more well-rounded branding approach that could meet their needs even more effectively than before.
That brings us to today. We’re a crack team of creatives, developers, marketing specialists, environmental experts, and project managers who are experts in our various fields. And we’re ready to put that expertise to use for you.
