Awhile back, we noticed something about ourselves: while Ignition Media served its purpose when we first started out, it described a scrappy little startup in an office the size of your left shoe. We’re not that company anymore. Now we’re an established agency in a brand-new office with space to grow. And the more we thought about it, the more it became clear that we needed a new name.If we were going to change, everyone had to be on board. So we held brainstorm sessions—a lot of them. We came up with a few great names, but for one reason or another they just didn’t work out. After working on the project for a solid year and a half, our team was wiped. All the names were starting to blur together; none of them really spoke to us.And then came Habit.

The name Habit has a few different meanings that tie in with who we are. For one thing, our fantastic new office is a former nunnery. Nuns wear habits—at least, that’s what The Sister Act told us—so our name is a nod to the building’s history. For another thing, a habit is a repeated pattern of behaviour. We're creatures of habit. Whether it's playing hilarious games before our morning meeting or building a feast with the Lunch Club, we all have our own little rituals and traditions that make us love coming in to work. But most importantly, we’re in the habit of doing some pretty excellent work. We use our experience in a wide range of different industries to understand people and why they make the buying decisions they do. And that in turn helps us create memorable brands, produce killer campaigns, and crank out pixel-perfect websites for our clients. So this is it. After a lot of hard work and sleepless nights, we’re officially announcing the change from Ignition Media to Habit. It’s great to meet you again.
