The Client

Flair Airlines is Canada’s only independent Ultra Low-Cost Carrier (ULCC) and is on a mission to liberate the lives of Canadians by providing affordable air travel that connects them to the people and experiences they love. With an expanding fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, Flair is growing to serve 28 cities across Canada and the U.S.

The Challenge

Flair Airlines came to us with a unique challenge: as the fastest growing airline company in Canada, they wanted Habit to assist in revitalizing their brand, to one that paralleled their growth. As a company that services Canada coast-to-coast, and has now expanded into the US, Flair tasked us with helping build them a strong brand identity that is instantly recognizable, position them in the market, streamline communications and media assets, and build a compelling presence and community on social media. 

And do all of this in multiple languages – English and French.

The Goal

The goal was clear. Flair is bold, exciting, and ambitious – and they want all of Canada to know it. From seat sales to new route announcements, community work and investments, brand awareness, and branding, Habit is helping them reach their goals efficiently and effectively.

The Project

Our projects with Flair have been multi-layered; while Habit has taken on the role of developing and executing social media content, brand positioning, and brand-aligned creative, we have also assisted in the development and deployment of multiple campaigns and projects. These have included influencer campaigns, creative assets for digital billboards across North America and digital advertising, swag items, revised brand assets (including brand guide), and PR/media support and communications.

Social Media

Flair’s social media channels posed a bit of a challenge: due to legacy issues, they had lost access to their Instagram and Facebook accounts. After Flair had exhausted all resources and methods to reobtain access, Habit proposed rebuilding their social media accounts from scratch. The current social media channels are reflective of their revitalized brand, with content that is brand appropriate, and supports their long-term vision and goals. 

Simultaneously, we have ensured that Flair’s social media channels are set-up expertly, to avoid such issues in the future.

 

 

Influencer Social Media

From hosting fashion shows at 35,000 feet with Genie Bouchard, to bringing home Canadian sweethearts Leylah Fernandez and Félix Auger-Aliassime after the US open, Habit assisted Flair in developing communications and social media content for their influencer activations. Our social media team also was on location with Flair to help bring their activations to life, and curate enduring content that is also brand-aligned. 

Habit is also assisting Flair with streamlining opportunities of partnership with various social media influencers across North America, and setting goals, managing relationships, and reporting.

Results

We have gotten a wide array of media attention and social growth from our brand ambassadors. The media events and activations with the influencers were wildly successful and popular: the fashion show with Genie Bouchard to launch the new revitalized cabin crew uniforms was a sold-out event, with media coverage in both Toronto and Montreal. Social media coverage for the national media announcement of Leylah Fernandez and Félix Auger-Aliassime reached millions of people across North America – helping cement Flair’s brand and popularity. The chapter on Flair hasn’t closed yet – we have just begun, and are looking forward to more successes.
